I've encountered ranges of emotions from my clients. I feel a good therapist is honest and mature about what may occur.  Ignoring the elephant in the room is the wrong approach.

An ideal session allows whatever feelings to surface organically. To heal, to connect, to just be present in the moment. You may fall asleep, laugh, or need to vent. But two standout from the others.

Sometimes you may need to . . .

CRY and let it out.
I might be meeting you during a tough transition in life. Perhaps from divorce or breakup, or stressful times at work, or maybe problems with the husband/boyfriend and kids. It is often overwhelming.

Some of you may be harboring wounds that haven't healed yet. The most rewarding work I've done are with victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. The path to recovery and finding the new normal is long and difficult.  You lean on your support group. You see your doctors and mental therapists, but sometimes you need a friendly massage from a gentleman.

The other major emotion I sometimes encounter. . .

AROUSAL
Sexuality and lust are part of being human.  And sometimes this energy innocently happens during your massage.  If you get aroused, don't be embarrassed. Most of the time I don't notice.  I'm not offended nor do I perceive your arousal as an invitation.  If you are feeling good in the moment and welcoming of the energy, I invite you to embrace it until it passes.

A massage can be therapeutic, spiritual, cathartic, and sensual while maintaining professional boundaries.  My success is dependent on being trustworthy and reputable with women.  To allow a safe space to be free and discover who you are.
